1. Cornerstone Web Design.com cooperates fully with any and all law enforcement agencies. Any and all illegal uses of Cornerstone Web Design's services is strictly prohibited and we will cooperate 100% with any law enforcement, criminal investigation, and any judicial proceedings. We will without hesitation turn over any logs, any personal information, and any other data we may have collected to further such an investigation. Any illegal activities will subject your account to an immediate termination of service.
2. Fees and Rates may be changed at any time. Cornerstone Web Design will do all we can to never modify an existing account with our service, however we reserve the right to modify existing rate structures or account allowances.
3. Payment must be made on time and in full for Cornerstone Web Design to survive as a business. Payments over 10 days late are subject to a $5 late payment fee. Payments over 15 days late will be subject to a suspension of services and termination of services can happen at any time after the 15 day grace period.
4. Cancellation requests can be made at any time and will be handled as quickly as possible. If another payment is made after the request for cancellation is made, the additional payment will be refunded to you. Chargebacks will result in the immediate deletion of any and all accounts held by the credit card holder issuing the chargeback and the chargeback reported to the chargeback bureau, talk to us and request a refund first before issuing a chargeback.
5. Cornerstone Web Design can not and does not offer an "uptime" guarantee. Additionally we cannot be held responsible for any damages caused by any downtime or failures in service, regardless of the reason. Cornerstone Web Design will do everything in our power to prevent and shorten any such problems but no guarantees are given implied or otherwise.
6. Support is provided 24 x 7 to our subscribers (except for a few major holidays). We limit our technical support to our area of expertise. The following are our guidelines when providing support: Cornerstone Web Design provides support related to your virtual site physically functioning. Cornerstone Web Design does not offer tech support for application specific issues such as cgi programming, html or any other such issue. All support is given via phone support or email.
7. Disk space over usage means it is either time to add more allowances to your account, or if you simply need some more space but no bandwidth, you can add disk space to your account. Call or purchase more space from our website.
8. Plan stacking is buying more than 1 plan whether monthly or yearly, and hosting only 1 web site on them. You can purchase and "stack" as many plans as you'd like in order to support your web site's growth.
9. Spam and uce are not tolerated by Cornerstone Web Design. We cancel an account at the first hint of spam being sent from our server, or spam being used to promote your website, even if not sent from our system. If the incident is severe, a service charge of as much as $1 per message sent may be levied to pay for our time and effort in dealing with the resulting problems caused by a spam surge. If you spam or if you use spammers to promote your website, we do not want your business.
10. We actively use Spamcop.net and the ORDB.org block lists to help curb spam. Please be aware there is a small chance that these spam filters COULD block legitimate incoming email. In our experience, these two lists are both VERY accurate and there is rarely "good" email thrown out with the bad but it CAN happen. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED, and Cornerstone Web Design.com will not be held responsible for damages any lost email may cause, you are being told upfront this is in place. Though the chance is small, it does exist so this is clear warning that it is in place. Addendum 08/18/2003: The use of spamcop and ordb filtering is optional and is disabled by DEFAULT so you must enable this in the control panel if you want to use the filtering!
11. Account Ownership He who pays for it owns it. Whoever is actually paying for an account (domain registration, etc) is for our purposes the owner. If this person asks us to change passwords we change them, if this person asks to cancel the account, we cancel it. Regardless of who maintains an account and regardless of who signed up for the account, the person paying is the person with the ultimate say of an account's status.
12. CGI forums are not allowed, if you want to run a forum please use a PHP based forum that uses a mysql database, flat file and perl based forums are just too cpu hungry. We have used phpBB and Invision Power Board and both should work fine on our servers, most other PHP based forums should also work.
13. Formmail and Webmail for php-nuke ban: The webmail module for php-nuke is not allowed to be run on our servers, this module is creating a huge problem with SPAM and will no longer be allowed. If we find it we WILL delete it without ANY warning, if we find it a SECOND time, we will suspend your site until you acknowledge that you WILL NOT run this module. Additionally, formmail.php and formmail.cgi for feedback scripts, etc IS NO LONGER ALLOWED. If you must use a formmailer use the formmailer mentioned in this thread on our forum supplied by dbmaster. Again we WILL delete formmailers when found, and we WILL suspend you if we find you've uploaded a non-allowed formmailer a second time until you agree to quit using them. (added 08/26/2004)
14. Excessive Email: If your domain recieves more than 10,000 (ten thousand) emails in a single day, we may take actions to protect the server you are on from overload by null routing your mail for 48-72 hours on the first time, and 1 week the second time. If the mail flood continues we may be forced to discontinue hosting for your site, or discuss a special plan on a special server just so your email flow can be handled properly.
